Air: There are five international airports in Northern California where most people travel from. San Francisco, Oakland, Sacramento, Fresno, and San Jose are the airports flown most in and out of. These locations are useful for each of the regions of Northern California that you may be visiting. For each airport, there are bustling tourist attractions nearby. All of these airports include the airlines SouthWest, United, American, Delta, Hawaiian (except for Fresno), Jetblue, and Alaskan. The airports also offer numerous airlines from Asia, Europe and many others.

Water: Not only can you travel by air to these California destinations, but traveling by sea is also a fantastic option. Northern California has various ports along its coast which include, Eureka, West Sacramento, Stockton, Richmond, Oakland, San Francisco, and Redwood City. A great cruise line option for traveling around the coast is Celebrity Cruises because their travel focus is all in the Pacific West Coast. Celebrity Cruises got their start in Miami, Florida. In addition is the Princess Cruise Line because they also specialize in the West Coast and are based out of Santa Clarita, California.

Ground: Travel by road is a very popular source in Northern California. Most big cities in the North of California have taxi systems and also rely on Uber and Lyft services to decrease traffic congestion and are a more eco-friendly option. Some big cities include scooter services or bike services on the street, all you need is the app on your phone. Rental cars are found at all five international airports in Northern California.

Getting around Northern California: To tour the entirety of Northern California, a car would be essential taking into account the state’s large size. Northern California is home to more than 15.38 million people and is quickly growing. Around cities in the San Francisco Bay Area a car could be useful but could also be difficult driving in traffic, difficult to find parking, and to drive up and down the steep hills in the city. The parking in the city is approximately $4 an hour. To enter the city, many locals take an Amtrak Train at very low prices of seven dollars. The Bay Area also offers various other modes of transportation. There are often scooters and bikes all around cities which approximately cost fifteen cents per minute of riding and a one dollar fee to start a scooter or bike up. This of course depends on which transportation company one chooses. Many locals walk to their destinations as well as take a bus, trolly or uber or lyft. To travel up and down the coast a very popular option is a rental car, but another scenic option is taking the Amtrak Train. This railway has countless stations up and down the northern and southern coast of California giving visitors spectacular views of the valley, redwoods, and even of Yosemite National Park. Costs of railways range from twenty to sixty dollars depending on the duration of the train ride.
